Cleaning website examples

Most cleaning websites are the same site in different colours

Smiling woman with a spray bottle, three service cards, a form. If you are browsing examples for ideas, the useful exercise is working out why almost none of them help a customer choose.

Forty real houses, dated

Ordinary photos, impossible to fake

/cypress/deep-clean-kitchen-bath

40 real rooms

Beats one perfect stock image

The stock photo problem

Look at ten cleaning websites and you will see the same handful of images. A customer has seen them too, on the sites of the two other cleaners they are comparing you against. One genuine photo of a kitchen you actually finished outperforms every one of them, because it could only be yours.

The examples that work have volume

The cleaning sites that generate enquiries are rarely the prettiest ones. They are the ones with dozens of real jobs on them. Drag the slider to see how fast that accumulates at your pace.

Four things to check on any cleaning site you admire

Rather than judging the design, run any example through these. It tells you whether it is a working site or a portfolio piece.

Are the photos real houses?

Reverse image search one of them. If it appears on forty other sites, that site is telling a customer nothing about the actual standard of work.

Can you tell what kind of cleaning they do?

Move-out, weekly, deep, commercial, Airbnb. A site that covers all of them equally is competing for none of them properly.

Is anything dated?

A cleaning business that has posted nothing in two years reads exactly like one that stopped trading. Dates are the cheapest credibility signal available.

Is pricing mentioned at all?

Not a full price list necessarily, but some indication. Cleaning customers are unusually price-sensitive and a site with no signal at all loses people who assume the worst.

Getting there without copying anyone

You will not build the site you admired by finding a better template. You will build it by having more real work on it than they do.

2

Post it with the suburb

The kind of clean and where it was.

What you are really looking for when you browse examples

Three motives, and only one of them leads somewhere useful.

A design you can copy

Understandable, but the sites in design galleries are usually built to be looked at rather than to bring a cleaner work. The ones producing enquiries are often plainer than you would expect.

Reassurance that yours is acceptable

The bar in domestic cleaning is low. Clear, current, obviously local, with real photos and an easy way to get in touch puts you ahead of most of the competition already.

A sense of what a customer sees

The useful one. Open three local cleaners on your phone, give each fifteen seconds, and notice which you would trust with a key. That is the judgement being made about you.

Stop browsing. Start photographing.

The site you are looking for is forty real houses, not a better layout.

Frequently asked questions

Can I see a real cleaning business using this?

Yes. The examples section links to live customer sites, including the individual job pages rather than just the homepages. Those are the pages that do the work in search.

My phone photos are not very good. Does that matter?

Less than you think. A slightly crooked photo of a real kitchen is more convincing than a perfect stock image, because it is obviously yours. Straight on, decent light, and you are fine.

How many pages before it starts to look established?

Cleaning has the highest job volume of any trade we work with, so it happens fast. At twelve cleans a week you are past fifty pages inside a month of posting.

Should I show my prices?

Some signal helps, even a starting figure or a typical range. Cleaning customers assume the worst when there is nothing at all, and a site with no pricing loses people before they ever get in touch.

What do the big franchise cleaning sites do differently?

Mostly they spend on ads and have national brand recognition. What they cannot do is show the specific person who will be in your house on Tuesday, which is the advantage an independent cleaner has and rarely uses.
